Naomi Crowther first found her muse at nine years old when she joined a group of artists who set aside one room in their Sydney house as a canvas for their dabblings. ‘It was most exciting to paint on the walls without getting into trouble. Since then, painting has been a major part of my life,’ says Crowther.

Crowther was named a finalist in the Hills Grammar Art Prize and a triple finalist in the Canberra Art Prize. The artist took out the First Prize Royal Canberra Art Show best print award for 2007 and appeared in person to hang her paintings on the Foxtel Lifestyle Channel’s popular “Selling Houses Australia” TV show in March 2009. That same year Crowther was selected among 40 Australian artists to have her work hung in the prestige Crookwell Art Auction alongside Archibald finalists Cherry Hood and Ben Quilty.

Crowther has enjoyed seven annual consecutive sell-out exhibitions with her ‘Poppies’ series at Artespresso, Canberra. Her works are hung in private and corporate collections locally and internationally, including a substantial Australian Government acquisition of six large paintings in 2007 for the Human Services head office in Barton, Canberra and 7 private schools. Naomi exhibited internationally for the first time in Brunei January 2009, sponsored by Austrade and the Australian High Commission.

Naomi and her family moved to the Far South Coast of NSW in 2011, where she currently resides with her family and two rescue tortoise-shell cats. Naomi is active in the local arts scene and paints at the beach and in her garden studio.
